Electricity Distribution Network - supporting price control Submission

I am supporting the development of UK Power Networks' RIIO-ED2 Business Plan submissions. I helped to exploit the outcome of its wide-ranging customer and stakeholder engagement. I develop practical approaches to making sense of conflicting insights. I challenged interpretation of engagement and the resulting business plan proposals. I improved key parts of business plan submission, creating a compelling strategic narrative. I engaged with senior leaders and external stakeholders, including the Customer Engagement Group. I am also helping UKPN influence proposed changes to the network access regulations.

Ofwat - developing new regulation

I helped Ofwat develop regulations for financial resilience and standards of corporate governance. This tackled concerns about high dividends, financial gearing and poor service performance. I helped develop policy thinking and facilitated industry discussions in this contentious area. I suggested improvements to policy development processes. I also promoted better ways to engage with the regulated companies. At the same time, I contributed to the development of Ofwat's renewal of sector strategy.

Water Retailer - operational capability improvement

I helped to improve business processes supporting transactions with water wholesalers. My client needed to improve operating relationships with its major wholesale suppliers. My work involved process redesign, training and new management reporting. I developed and rolled out an intranet site. I secured business commitment to improvement from key departments. As a result there was measurable operational improvement and cleared transactions backlogs. Relationships with key wholesalers improved as a result of enhanced internal capability and more streamlined processes.
