I have worked in a variety of non-executive roles. I bring constructive challenge and deep knowledge of regulated utility sectors. My expertise includes strategy, regulation, utility markets, audit and assurance.
I sit on the independent Customer Engagement Group for Cadent Gas, the UK’s largest gas distribution network. I provides independent scrutiny of regulatory business plans and ongoing strategy and operations. I shaped key aspects of our well-received report. The Group's scrutiny encouraged a more customer-focussed business strategy. We improved planned outcomes for customers for a significant net benefit.
In 2018 and 2019 I chaired Independent Steering Groups overseeing new regulatory codes. They set rules for adopting water and sewerage networks on new housing developments. The steering group consisted of senior executives from housing developers and water companies. I resolved blocking issues, managed disenfranchised stakeholders, and normalised meeting processes. I also engaged with Ofwat, ensuring higher public profile and better consultation.
